Whilst wedding rules do not have to be set in stone or stuck to, it is always a couples choice who to travel with on their wedding day. However, both registry office and church weddings do usually follow the same rules of tradition and etiquette, with couples usually wanting to arrive at their venue with close friends and family.

A guide to traditionalwedding arrival:

Normally, the bride usually travels to the ceremony venue with the person that is giving her away. This is usually the father of the bride. Most of the time, the Bridesmaids travel to the wedding with the Mother of the Bride. Whilst the groom usually travels with the Best Man and Ushers.

When it comes to the groom and his best man/ushers, they usually opt to travel in style, and often opt for a luxurious sports car with an impressive engine. If this sounds like something you fancy, we do suggest that you hire more than one car to cater for the amount of people on your side of the wedding party. This car, or these cars, would usually leave from the grooms house which allows ushers to be able to assist with seating arrangements and guests before the ceremony begins.

The second car is usually for the mother of the bride and the bridesmaids. This car takes them to the ceremony a little early in order for them to prepare what is needed for the arrival of the bride. If you are opting for this tradition, then you can put aside some time for just arrived photographs with the bride.

The third will be to transport the bride and whoever is giving her away. Upon arrival, the chauffeur should open the car door for the person who is giving the bride away first so that he or she can then open the other door for the bride.

We at Wedding Car Hire offer a range of different motors for couples. Our fleet is very affordable and there is a vehicle perfect for absolutely any wedding theme. Additionally, we have larger vehicles to transport larger wedding parties, so be sure to take a look at our options!
